Principles
I started prototyping small products with LLMs when you still had to copy code from the chat and paste it into a code editor. While big tech is still figuring out how LLMs fit into production workflows, I think AI is often best at something much smaller: fixing everyday annoyances for yourself and the people around you. Here are a few small products I built over the last 2.5 years.
Last Radio
LLMs are great for working with APIs. Not satisfied with a service? Get the API. Or create one. I did that with NTS Radio, so I could build custom chronological feeds of shows and artists. I shared it on the NTS Discord. Now hundreds of people across the world use it daily. Nice for a weekend project. Link
Lane
A personal Tumblr-style bookmark manager. Links, articles, YouTube videos, quotes - everything goes in through a browser extension. It also has an iOS app, so I can save thoughts on the go. Mysterious logo included. Link
Ambient Pomodoro
Pomodoro timers are boring. This one plays drone music and blinks. Link
Kindle Gallery
Kindle dropped support for old Kindles. So I turned mine into an automatic Are.na gallery with month-long battery life.
